So, my blog is back up again after a month downtime. We tried to upgrade Wordpress on our server and when pressing the upgrade button, Wordpress deleted every file on our server (writable by the web server user). So, all 30+ web sites hosted, all Hunch Stuff from 2003 to 2009 and our Subversion repository is gone forever. Nope, we’re stupid and did not have a backup.

I set out to write a better blog tool than Wordpress and here it is — behold the mighty Gitblog.

      Ha, ha. Yeah, never really liked the voice in the back of my head saying “The horrible Wordpress code is going to make you regret things one day”. Now, let’s revive arrelid.com shall we?!

    You do know that ikiwiki can be used as a blog and that the back end could be contained in git (or some other scm)?

    I’ve tried wordpress for blogging a few times but…still don’t really like it. I use blogger.com and am thinking of setting up a photography-portfolio with the use of indexhibit. So…no more wordpress for me. Simple is big. Wordpress is quite complicated…(I’m studying Interactive Media!!!).
